Esports in America
Esports is the newest option for scholarships as US colleges and is growing fast.
In 2014 a college near Pittsburgh launched a scholarship League of Legends team. Now over 100 colleges and university offer scholarships for students with new colleges joining every year.
In competitions, such as the 2018 League of Legends World Championship, the finals were watched by close to 100 million unique viewers worldwide, up from 24 million in 2014.
Getting recruited
The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), which exists only since in 2016 is the biggest non-profit association representing US colleges.
The goal at NACE is to bring esports in line on campus with the support seen for traditional athletics.
Colleges and Universities have created varsity teams which usually have 14-16 players.
ACA is helping students to get the best chance to apply for a varsity team by creating videos demonstrating their skills and coach them in creating the right online profiles on the right platforms.
